Responding to World Environment Day and Environmental Action Month 2024
With the theme "Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience," World Environment Day 2024 calls for land restoration to protect a sustainable future.
The Institute organized celebrations for World Environment Day on June 5th, disseminating the Environmental Protection Law, related documents, and outstanding scientific and technological achievements in land environmental quality management.
The workshop presented research and reports on responding to World Environment Day and Environmental Action Month 2024, including:
- Promoting mechanisms and policies for implementing the 2020 Environmental Protection Law
- Building policies and strengthening human resource training for desertification prevention
- Investigating and assessing desertification status, building databases and drought maps
- Reviewing, classifying, and monitoring land environmental quality changes
These activities aim to raise awareness that land restoration is an integral part of socio-economic development planning, promoting advanced technologies and circular economy models toward sustainable development.
